Friday was a rather packed day, while the boys had archery myself and 'M' stayed in the car and done a few crafty things.
After which we met up with dad and headed over to Southampton SeaCity Museum. Got to be the best museum I've been in for some time. Half of the museum has been dedicated to the Titanic which I love, I adore the history of the Titanic and we have done quite a few projects on it now but still learnt a bit more.
Having a go at steering a ship.
The rest of the museum which is housed in the former court house is more of an all round city museum telling the history of the city but they have some fabulous interactive screens and games for kids which my lot loved. 'M' spent a good half an hour listing and learning about a Roman importer.
The kids decided they wanted to role play in the court room.
We finished off at the museum and had a bit of a tea and ice cream break before going off on our quest to walk the city and find the Rhinos. http://gorhinos.co.uk/
Placed around the city are 36 Rhino works of art, all beautifully decorated by different artists, we followed the trial and managed to find most of them. I won't bore you with the many pictures of Rhinos we took. Also dotted around are smaller versions painted by schools and some sponsored by businesses. The kids loved this one as it was covered in toys.
Arrived home very late but we all had fun.
Our weekend was packed with the new season of football for 'C' and visiting family with a bit of shopping thrown in. I never fail to find some great educational kits in TK Maxx
