Beach, bodies & cans!

I don't seem to have done too well lately with updating the blog. Over the last few weeks we've all had the sniffles at some point. Been very busy finishing of the front and back gardens ready for the summer.

Some snippets of what I remember from the last couple of weeks are:

Last Friday was the Nature Reserve trip I had booked. We spent the day beach combing, pond dipping, animal tracking and birdwatching. It was a really good day.

Last Mondays home ed group was spent at a friends house as we have given up the hall due to a number of reasons but mainly drop in numbers. We did some human body work on the digestive system and how the hand works. It was very gross at times!

Stomach digestion, washing up liquid for saliva, vinegar for acid mixed in nicely with spaghetti hoops and shredded wheat!

Intestines (tights)

We then went on to spend the afternoon down at the beach.

H finally finished his maths CGP book which he'd been trying to finish the last few pages in.

The usual book work, reading etc.

H has continued building his miniature brick house.

C has spent some time doing trash pack science experiments. A present he'd had for Christmas.

We had one evening down at the beach with a flask of tea to watch the sun set and then used a pretty cool app to point out the planets and constellations.

Yesterday was spent making tin can lanterns for tealights punching holes in a can filled with ice using a hammer and nail.

We read some books did some maths, watched horrible histories and had a walk in the sun to the shop, picking daffodils on the way home. M's favourite.

We spent one evening watching the programme 'Lap Of The Planet' Live where they were showing the views from the International Space Station as it circled the Earth.

The boys recently started French lessons once a week so we went off to that this morning, seems to be going well as I hear the odd French word or counting from them both now and again!

The usual business of the kids clubs still continues on, fitting in 3 sessions of football for C, M's gymnastics and H's Jujitsu at least twice a week is hard work!

Tonight the boys and dad are off the Portsmouth university for a talk on ultrasound and tour of the medical training centre.

Still here!!!

I seem to have gone AWOL from the blog again. Currently having a sit down at the computer so I thought I would actually just write that I am still here.
I expect trying to remember what we have done for the last week or more will be impossible given the fact that the boys are having a sleepover as we speak and I don't think I can concentrate all that well with the thudding and laughing going on!
We have been busy though, honest!

I seem to recall going to see the Lego movie, having a home ed coffee morning up at the hall with the kids baking biscuits before hand and visiting another potential hall for a new group.

We played a lot of Lego and did the usual English and Maths books/games.

We have visited the aquarium and been to Southsea beach to take a look at all the washed up items from the recent storms and onto the arcades. Anchors and trees being amongst them. Which reminds me as to the reason for my absence of my blogging which was mainly down to the half term affect. Boys being quite happy to play out or have friends in so we didn't in fact go all that far that week.

Oh and I got to go rally driving, my main pressie for my birthday from my husband.
