Today started off very early 'M' had decided she wanted to get up at the same time as dad which meant I had to get up too. At least getting up at 6am you have plenty of day to fill.

We were all fed, dressed and ready to go out by 9.30 very unusual for us. We arrived in town so early that the gallery where we were intending to visit hadn't even opened yet, so off we went to the library. 'H' picked up so many books on his latest interest 'cars' we couldn't carry them all and had to drop them back off at the car.

The latest exhibition at the gallery 'wildlife photographer of the year'.

Such beautiful photos and lovely stories behind most of them.

Out of coincidence the museum next door had a drop in activity day running. The theme was seaside holidays from the past and sea life. So not wanting to turn down an educational opportunity spent quite some time looking at old clothing, sea creatures through telescopes and having a go at a coconut shy stand. I got talking to one of the lovely volunteers who told me all about her old dresses which she still has in her wardrobe and how one of her dresses had even met the queen as someone had borrowed it from her years ago. Very nice lady :-)

After reading a few books the boys made the most of the last of their school friends being home and had a game of football while myself and 'M' headed up to the park.
